Hans-Christoph Michel, one of the cast of Sleeping Dogs, the debut feature from Irish director Michael O’Connor, has won the award for Best Supporting Actor at the Independent Filmmakers Showcase Los Angeles (http://ifsfilm.com/Programguide/byfilm.php). The festival described the film as a ‘beautifully written, shot thriller filled with pitch perfect performances.’
Since receiving an award for Best Cinematography in Arizona and its Irish premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2011, Sleeping Dogs has continued its successful festival run with screenings in Europe, Asia and the US. After screenings in Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo (http://slofilmfest.org/) in March, the film is now moving back to the East Coast to screen at the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival (http://thebnff.com/), the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival (http://www.cfifn.org/)and the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival (http://myrtlebeachfilmfestival.com/in April.
