Tickets for SOUND+VISION at The Model are moving fast and The Model are happy to announce the addition of Shellshock Rock to the Punk Sunday line-up on 27 November. The Director John T. Davis will be in attendance and joining Terri Hooley, Godfather of the Belfast Punk scene to give a talk following the screening at 6pm.

Shellshock Rock is a documentary celebrating the 30th birthday of the Good Vibrations record label, looking at the history of the punk scene in Ireland in the 1970’s, including footage of performances by bands such as the Undertones, Protex, and Stiff Little Fingers. The event will be followed by the Irish Premiere of Punk’s Not Dead from Macedonian Director, Vladimir Blazevski.

The Screening will be followed by a Q&A Session with Terri Hooley, the godfather of the Belfast Punk scene and founder of Good Vibrations records and director of Shellshock Rock, John T. Davis. Start time is approx. 7pm

Other highlights of the programme include the opening on 16th November  with the Irish Premiere of Susanne Rostock’s, Sing Your Song about the ‘King of Calypso’, Harry Belafonte Jr., Inni, Sigur Rós, Musical Documentary Director Tony Palmer introducing the Irish Premiere of Leonard Cohen: Bird on a Wire, one of two of his films being screened at the Festival and Dark Room Notes performing a Live Score to the silent film classic The Lost World.

A special Family Season of Film Screenings also includes animated films such as The Jungle Book and The Gruffalo and children are encouraged to dress-up and sing-along. A series of free animation workshops, including stop-motion animation, will be held during the festival ensuring there will be something for all ages to enjoy.

The name of the festival was devised by Catherine Boland from Greystones, as part of a competition to win Festival Passes to the event.
