RTÉ and Screentime ShinAwil have announced the names of the four coaches who will join presenters Kathryn Thomas and Eoghan McDermott on The Voice.
Westlife’s Kian Egan, Sharon Corr, Brian Kennedy and former The Blizzards singer turned solo artist, Bressie will share their experience and knowledge of the Irish music industry with hopefuls who enter the competition.
Entrants will be in with a chance to win a recording contract with Universal Music but first they have to work their way through three stages in The Voice.
The first is a blind audition, the second is a singing battle and the final stage are the live performance shows.
During the blind auditions the mentors will be seated with their backs to the singers, and their decisions are based solely on the contestant’s voice.
If a coach is impressed by the voice, they push the ‘I Want You’ button and their chair turns to face the singer. If more than one coach pushes the button, the power shifts to the singer and they get to decide which coach they want to work with.
