Bollywood Film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ ‘(I am Tiger’) Shoots in Temple Bar, Dublin in October

‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (I am Tiger) will be shooting scenes in Temple Bar, Dublin this October. It is produced by Yash Raj Films  an Indian Entertainment company set up in 1976 by Yash Chopra, an Indian film director and producer.

In the last three decades the company has grown from strength to strength and today has to its credit India’s most enviable film catalogue. Some of their past films have been the highest grossing in the Indian entertainment business.

Ek Tha Tiger stars two of the biggest names in Indian Cinema, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Yash Raj films plan to release this film in 24 territories worldwide and expect it to reach an audience of over 100 million people.

The Irish Film Board has spent over two years enticing this project to Dublin and it has received considerable support and assistance from numerous Government agencies and also the private sector including Tourism Ireland, Trinity College, Dublin City Council, the OPW, Dublin Bus, the LUAS, St. Stephens’s Green Shopping Centre, Temple Bar Traders Association.

The project will result in over €1.4 million being spent directly in the local Dublin economy from hotels, restaurants, transport etc in a 5 week period. Irish Tourism have a particular interest in this project as they are aggressively marketing the country as a tourist destination amongst the growing middle classes in India, with up to 100 million Indians seeing Dublin on the cinema screen.

Tiger runs through the streets. Tiger runs into temple Bar Pub.

All very easy shots with our Actor running down East Essex street. We will let all pedestrians go and not block the streets. We will place a table and chairs on roads adjacent to the Centra store and as Tiger runs out of Centra he knocks over table.

Sunday 9th October         6am – 2pm

Car stunt on Crampton Quay. South Quays closed from O’Connell bridge to Grattan Bridge from 6am until 2pm.

 Thurs 13th October           8pm to 1am
