‘Broken Tail’ receives double nomination at world’s leading Wildlife Film Festival
Crossing the Line Films are delighted to have received a double nomination for their internationally acclaimed tiger documentary Broken Tail at the world’s leading Wildlife Film Festival – Jackson Hole in Wyoming USA.
The festival brings together the world’s best natural history broadcasters, producers and filmmakers and has grown to be the largest and most prestigious competition of the wildlife & natural history genre. This year’s Festival received a record number of submissions competing for their highly coveted awards and Broken Tail is nominated for Best Conservation Program & Best Hosted or Presenter-led Program.
Responding to the announcement, film Producer and co-Director John Murray said “Broken Tail was a young male tiger who broke all the rules and completed a remarkable journey across modern India. We hope the nominations for Jackson Hole will help bring both his story and the fate of the very last wild tigers on Earth to an even greater audience worldwide. If the world’s favourite animal cannot be saved from extinction, what hope for the rest of our wild creatures?”
The 2011 award winners will be selected by a distinguished panel in Jackson Lake Wyoming October 3-7, and will be announced at a Gala celebration on Thursday, October 6th.
Broken Tail was funded by the Irish Film Board & RTÉ, along with CBC, SWR, ZDF, ARTE, MEDIA, Nature for WNET, BBC.
