The semi-finalists include The Last Security Man, a dark comedy about the unlikely friendship between a college drop-out and a psychotic Belgian security guard. In Kilkenny-based comedy Rent a Friend – Der and Dave’s friendship goes from BFF to BAA, junk status, in pursuit of the same dream girl.

Meanwhile The Outlaw Concy Ryan is a Limerick-based mockumentary that follows proud Moyhill native Concy Ryan as he struggles to preserve his way of life in the face of a new government initiative to regenerate the area Finally Lucky Run is a drama set in Tuam, County Galway. Robbie Dolan enjoyed a life without consequences until his most recent chemical indulgence left him fumbling in the darkest crevices of his home town.

All four dramas are available to view at www.rte.ie and voting will take place until Tuesday 3 May at 2pm, following which the three finalists will be announced.
