'Sleeping Dogs' wins at Arizona Film Festival

The debut feature from Irish director Michael O’Connor Sleeping Dogs (Schlafende Hunde) has recently won the Special Jury Award for Best Cinematography at the 20th Arizona International Film Festival.

Michael O’Connor, currently based in Hamburg, Germany, teamed up with Australian/German writer/producer Ninon Schubert and Israeli cinematographer Guy Refael for this psychological thriller shot in black and white, while on location in Hamburg.

The film explores the complicated relationship of a father and son against a background of death, loss and a criminal past. It premiered at the 2010 Filmfest Hamburg and stars Irish actor John Kirby as the father, Jim.
