€25,000 prize for ‘Masterchef’
RTÉ today announced that they are looking for applicants to the reality show MasterChef, which will be coming to Ireland for the first time. The search will commence for amateur cooks to take part in the first-ever series of MasterChef Ireland with judges being Michelin-starred chef Dylan McGrath and top restaurateur Nick Munier.
Dylan McGrath won his first Michelin star at the age of 30. Nick Munier is a Dublin restaurateur and Maitre d’, who has been in the industry for 22 years working for a number of chefs, including Marco Pierre White and the Roux brothers.
Successful applicants for MasterChef Ireland will go through a number of rounds to get to the audition stage of the competition where they will be competing to gain a place on the series.
Applicants can also apply through The John Murray Show on RTÉ Radio 1, the radio partner for MasterChef Ireland, to secure two places directly in the audition stage of the competition. The budding chefs that secure a place in the final 16 will proceed through a series of tasks and challenges testing their culinary ability. Contestants will be eliminated at different stages of the series until there is one winner..
The winner of MasterChef Ireland will win the title of Ireland’s first MasterChef and a prize of €25,000.
