The Irish Polish Film Project, a two day Film Festival that will take place in Filmbase, is seeking donations to run the event via www.fundit.ie. The festival is part of PLAY Poland – a unique Polish Film Festival which will run throughout the UK and Ireland over a five month period.

The Irish-Polish Film Project will act as a platform for professional and amateur filmmakers, animators and film course students to explore Irish and Polish film. This venture aims to incorporate Polish cinematography into the Irish film environment through a blend productions, workshops and educational talks.

There will be indoor events that will consist of a number of short films from both countries, followed by a Polish feature-length film. Screenings, workshops, music events, exhibitions and educational talks, will work as a means to promote Polish art and culture, enhance the works of emerging filmmakers, encourage cross-cultural collaborative projects and offer networking opportunities to those working in and interested in the sector.

The discussion panels will involve Polish and Irish speakers including Dan Spencer (Pegbar), Agnieszka Grandowicz (Animators.ie) and Dave Byrne (Director of Underground Cinema).

The Irish Polish Film Project will take place in Filmbase, Curved Street in Templebar in July 2011. For more information or to donate to the event visit http://www.fundit.ie/project/play–poland—irishpolish-film-project
