Filmbase/RTÉ Short Film Awards 2011 Deadline Announced

Filmbase and RTÉ have announced the deadline for the first round of the Filmbase/RTÉ Short Film Awards 2011. The deadline for the first round of the award has been and thus all applications must be at Filmbase by 5pm on Friday 25th of March. The award includes €10,000 which is paid towards the selected production and a matching level of production equipment and editing facilities supplied by Filmbase. Up to four awards will be made through this scheme in 2011 with another round later in the year.

The awards are the longest running funding scheme for short film production in Ireland and have funded over 100 short films in that time. Most recently, two projects were selected from over 190 applications sent in for the June 2010 round of the award. The chosen projects were Small Time, written and to be directed by Ged Murray and produced by Ian Hunt Duffy and The Question, written by Jessica O’Toole, to be directed by Danann Breathnach and produced by Anna Rogers. Both films will go in to production later this year.
