Ireland’s International Disability Film Festival
ABÄRA, Ireland’s first ever International Disability Film Festival, begins this December with a selection of films from around the world. Aimed at celebrating the progress made by people with disabilities while increasing awareness and understanding of the many challenges still faced by people with disabilities around the world, ABÄRA opens on International Day of People with Disabilities, 3–5 December.
This festival is organised by the Dóchas Disability and International Development (DID) working group, in partnership with Arts & Disability Ireland and would not be possible without the invaluable financial contribution of the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs.
Running in various venues across Dublin City, with a sister event in Enniskillen, a festival pass can be purchased at Filmbase on Curved Street, Temple Bar, D2, and will enable festival goers low-priced as well as free ticket entry into all films. Further information about ABÄRA is available on www.dochas.ie
