Paradiso, a Derry documentary, was directed by Alessandro Negrini and produced by Margo Harkin (Besom Productions). Commissioned by BBC, the film is now Official Selection at the Istanbul International Documentary Festival.

Shot in Derry, the film follows Roy Arbuckle, a man who decides it’s time to challenge one of the monstrosities left by the war– fear. He wants to reunite his former showband, The Signetts, and his formers musicians who are now in their seventies, organising a major dance night. He hopes to get Protestants and Catholics dancing together again in The Fountain, a dying Protestant district .

Paradiso has recently won the Audience Award at Chichester International Film Festival in England and has won the Best Documentary Award at a host of festivals including the Arcipelago Roma Film Festival in Rome, the River Film Festival in Padova, the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh and the Slow Film Festival in Eger.
