‘Miss Remarkable & Her Career’ wins International Awards
Irish co-production Miss Remarkable & Her Career has received the FIPRESCI Award at the 50th International Annecy Animation Festival June 2010, France as well as winning the Nordic Short Film Award at the 21st Nordisk Panorama, 5 Cities Film Festival in Bergen, Norway in September 2010.
Miss Remarkable & her Career is a co-production between the companies Lisbet Gabrielsson Film AB from Sweden, A Man & Ink from Ireland and Bullitt Film from Denmark.
The film is based on the graphic novel of the same name by the director, Joanna Rubin Dranger and produced by Lisbet Gabrielsson, Jeremy Purcell, Michael Lennon, Barry O’Donoghue, Vibeke Vogel and Elise Lund Larsen.
With the voices of Sharon Horgan and Hugh O’Conor this darkly comic story shows Miss Remarkable’s struggle with her own demons, crushing parental expectations and a career meltdown.
The film was produced in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.
