Filmbase seeks Intern for Marketing & Administrative Assistant role
Filmbase is a not-for-profit resource centre for filmmakers. It’s building on Curved Street, in the heart of Dublin’s Temple Bar, is a public space where filmmakers can network, hire filmmaking equipment, take training courses and receive support and information about working within the Irish film industry. Filmbase also publishes the cultural magazine Film Ireland and administers a number of film and documentary production award schemes.
Filmbase is currently looking to take on an intern in the role of Marketing & Administrative Assistant. The candidate will work directly with the Project & Administration Officer assisting in the execution of Filmbase’s marketing activities. They will also be entrusted with a range of administrative duties.
The Role
This internship will offer the candidate the opportunity to use and develop their marketing skills in a variety of ways. Tasks will include writing, proof-reading and distributing press releases in a timely manner. The will also be entrusted with regularly updating various Filmbase social media including Facebook page and news blog. Other activities will be the assisting in the development and execution of special events from start to finish particularly the publicity of said events. Administrative duties will include conducting research, archiving materials, and database development and management.
Person Specification
Successful candidates must posses the following skills:
> good written and verbal skills
> ability to work in a team and on own initiative
> be computer literate (Word, Excel, Access & internet)
> marketing experience, particularly in the form of online / social media
Candidates must also have an interest in filmmaking and the arts and be familiar with the role Filmbase plays in the Irish film community.
Terms of Internship
Hours are flexible, please note that this position is unpaid.
The initial internship period is for eight weeks from mid-October but may be extended if mutually beneficial.
