Irish Among Emmy Nominations

There is a stong Irish representation among this year’s Emmy nominees which were announced earlier.

The Tudors received four Primetime Emmy nominations: production designer, Tom Conroy, art director Colman Corish and set decorator, Crispian Sallis were part of the team that were nominated for Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series; Ousama Rawi has been nominated for Outstanding Cinematography for a One Hour Series; Joan Bergin and Susan Cave received nominations for their Costume Design and Wardrobe supervision; and Dee Corcoran received a nomination for Outstanding Hairstyling for a Single Camera Series.

Michael Gambon was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie for his role as Mr. Woodhouse in the BBC co-production of Emma.

David Downes received a nonimation for Outstanding Music Direction for his work on Celtic Woman: Stories from the Heart.

The 62nd Primetime Emmy awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, 29th August.
