TG4 in association with the ILBF and BBC Northern Ireland are inviting new or experienced Irish language writers to apply to a scriptwriting development scheme. Up to six places are available for Irish-speaking screenwriters interested in writing drama for television.
The training scheme will take place over a six-month period and will feature workshops and mentoring from key industry professionals. Areas which will be covered include: story arcing, story structure, character development, dialogue, tone, pace; broadcaster requirements.
The end result of the scheme will see writers with polished scripts ready for production for possible broadcast on TG4 & BBC Northern Ireland.
Potential applicants must submit an idea for a single half hour drama based around the theme ‘Stigma’. The story should have a contemporary setting and also be set in a realistic situation where Irish would be spoken.
