FILMBASE/RTÉ SHORTLIST AND DEADLINE

Ten projects have been shortlisted for the first round of the Filmbase/RTÉ Short Film Awards 2010. These projects were chosen from over 280 applications sent in to Filmbase this February. The production teams behind each project will attend Filmbase for interview later this month after which up to two awards will be made.

The projects shortlisted are:
-Birthday Wishes written by Oran Doyle
-Disassembled written and to be directed by Darragh McKeon
-Because It Is Bitter written and to be directed by Manus McManus
-The First Holy Confession of Lillie Mahony written by Sarah Maria Griffen and to be directed by David Tynan
-Andrea Was Here written and to be directed by Tomas Seoighe
-Anthony written and to be produced by Bill Tyson
-Mind’s Eye written by Eleanor McSherry and to be directed by Ivan McMahon
-One Man and his Dog written and to be directed by Robert Ryan
-Joy written and to be directed by Colm Quinn
-Silent Night written and to be directed by James Phelan

This award scheme offers new and emerging filmmakers the opportunity to fund their short film. The prize includes a cash award of €10,000 towards the film production as well as a production package from Filmbase with up to 5 days of production equipment hire and 3 weeks of post-production hire.

The deadline for the next round of the awards is 5pm on Friday 25th of June.
