The award-winning Northern Irish drama Peacefire will be screened on 23rd May at 1pm as part of the IFI’s Ireland on Sunday.

Peacefire, the feature debut of writer-director Macdara Vallely, is a gritty, moving and bitterly funny account of one young man’s experience of crime and punishment on a housing estate in 1990s Northern Ireland. This is a rare chance for Dublin audiences to see this evocative drama; a deserved winner of the Best First Feature Award at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2008.

IFI Ireland on Sunday is a monthly programme of screenings which showcases new fiction and documentary works as well as providing a space for audiences to engage with the filmmakers. Producer of Peacefire Chris Martin will attend for a post-screening Q&A session.

Tickets are available from the IFI Box Office in person, by phone 01 679 3477, or online at www.ifibooking.ie
