Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones, George R.R. Martin’s epic, has secured a pilot and nine episodes by HBO. The shoot will commence in June in Northern Ireland and is expected to be the biggest television series ever filmed in Europe It is set to star Sean Bean, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Mark Addy, Kit Harrington, Jennifer Ehle, Jack Gleeson, Peter Dinklage and Harry Lloyd. Hundreds of local cast and crew will be employed for the duration of the production, which is expected to last from June until December.

Game of Thrones will broadcast as hour-long episodes in spring 2011.
