Irish Doc 'Paradiso' wins Audience Award in Germany
Paradiso has won an Audience Award at the International Film Weekend Wuerzburg in Germany. The 60-minute documentary has previously won Best Documentary Award at the Slow Film International Film Festival in Eger, Hungary; Best Documentary Award at the Global Cinema Festival in Indore, India and was also part of the Official Selection of Monterrey International Film Festival in Mexico.
Commissioned by the BBC, Paradiso is a documentary directed by Alessandro Negrini and produced by Irish producer Margo Harkin of Besom Productions. The director of photography was Odd-Geir Sæther. The film documents the attempt to erode sectarian hatred in Derry by bringing Catholics and Portestants together to dance.
