Screamfest Horror Film Festival & Screenplay Competition

The 9th Annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival & Screenplay Competition takes place 16–25 October 2009 in Hollywood. The call for entries deadline is approaching for new horror feature films, shorts and feature-length screenplays. The final film and screenplay submission deadline is 15th August.

Screamfest showcases talented genre filmmakers and writers from around the world to the entertainment industry in order to help further their careers. Writers and directors have garnered representation, winning screenplays have been optioned and/or purchased by production companies and films have secured distribution as a result of Screamfest. Four past Screamfest-winning directors have now directed for Sam Raimi and others have been attached to studio films.

The winning screenplay will receive a $1,000 cash prize and Movie Magic software.
