To coincide with the premiere of Ciarín Scott’s new documentary Waiting for the Light about filmmaker and archivist George Morrison, Filmbase and the IFI will present a retrospective of his work that will run from 24th September–4th October 2008.

Best known for films Mise Éire (1959) and Saoirse? (1961), this retrospective has been developed to reintroduce audiences to his work. It will combine a selection of screenings at the IFI of rarely seen films by George, as well as an exhibition at Filmbase of a selection of photographic works and related items.

The screening at the IFI will take place on Wednesday 24th September at 6.30pm.

The exhibition at Filmbase will open after the screening at 8pm on the 24th and will run daily until the 4th of October.

Audiences can catch Waiting for the Light, which will premiere at the Stranger than Fiction Documentary Film Festival, on Saturday 27th September at the IFI.
