The team behind the UK’s original cross-media series Sofia’s Diary, the first-ever internet-base drama to make the transition to UK television, have announced the launch of a new company Be Entertainment to be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The team, which has already seen considerable success in interactive and online drama, will concentrate on developing online and cross-media TV series aimed at the international marketplace. Be Entertainment has been offered support from Invest Northern Ireland and from Northern Ireland Screen that is part of an investment of approximately a quarter of a million pounds, which the company will spend in Northern Ireland and in developing an active media cluster in Belfast. The company aims to establish a pool of new media artists and creators capable delivering entertainment products.
