Irish Director to Premiere Short in LA
Writer/director Donal Foreman will be attending the screening of his film Removal in Los Angeles on August 20th as part of VisionFest, an annual gala screening and awards ceremony organised by Filmmakers Alliance.
In its 11th year, Filmmakers Alliance’s annual screening and celebration VisionFest will be held at the Directors Guild of America Theatre Complex.
The awards begin with the presentation of the Vision Award to an established filmmaker whose artistic ambition and excellence has inspired emerging filmmakers around the world. Past recipients include Mike Figgis, Terry Gilliam, Wim Wenders, Allison Anders, Alexander Payne, David O. Russell and Werner Herzog.
This year’s Vision Award recipient is filmmaker Kevin Smith.
The awards will be preceded by a special Community Vision Award to Los Angeles FilmForum and the endowment of the Los Angeles Short Filmmaking Grant and will be followed by a screening of the best short films produced through Filmmakers Alliance in the past year.
