Over 55’s Film Club Screens Surprise Movie

The Pictures monthly film club for over 55’s will this month screen a surprise movie. To date the film club has shown a stellar line-up of movies including foreign language films (The Lives of Others), Irish films (The New Matchmakers), comedies (Little Miss Sunshine, About Schmidt), drama (The Painted Veil) and old classics (Casablanca and Some Like It Hot).

The club was launched by axis, Ballymun and Dublin City Council Arts Office in association with the Irish Film Institute and access Cinema in January with a screening of the classic comedy Some Like It Hot. The Pictures shows one screening per month of all genres of fims in axis arts and community resource centre, Ballymun.

The screening will take place in axis arts and community resource centre, Ballymun at 2.30 pm on Monday, 25th August. Members are invited to the axis Café prior to the films to enjoy a cuppa or a bite to eat. Tickets are €2 for members, €4 for non-members with membership costing €2.
